Kendall was a small town. Not much was going on, other than a few houses, a grain elevator, the railroad, and a cemetery. There may have been more people in the cemetery than outside of it.
Speaking of dead things, Myrick was delighted to find an actual pay phone in Kendall! He went and picked the phone up off the hook, and for the first time in his life, he heard a dial tone.
