Olpe

Our first stop after leaving Emporia was Olpe. We have some friends who used to live between here and Madison, but we have never actually visited either town together.

This town is small and cute, with a beautiful old church, a tiny town hall, and a large, fun park. On the nearby ball fields, several teams were holding Saturday-morning practices.

We spent a long time playing at the park, and then continued looking around town. It is a testament to Olpe's friendliness that we saw six pedestrians as we were exploring, and every single one of them waved at us!

We drove by the Chicken House, which we'd heard good things about, but alas, it was too early for lunch, so they weren't open yet.
