Neosho Rapids was founded in 1855 after a couple of false starts (at first, the town was to be named Italia, and then Florence).Again, this little town had neat yards, a post office, a community center, and some old business and school buildings that have been converted into homes.
Though a possible tornado hit the town about a month before our visit, we didn't see a lot of lasting damage.
Here, as in our previous visits today, we encountered a lot of friendly people who were quick to wave and smile.
